Which product is right for my floor?

It depends on the surface and environment. As a general guide, anti-slip tapes and cleats work well on stairs, ramps, and equipment; chemical floor treatments are designed for compatible hard mineral surfaces such as ceramic tile, porcelain, natural stone, and concrete; epoxy coatings suit many industrial and high-traffic floors; and FRP step covers are ideal for heavy-duty stairs and walkways.

If you are unsure, send us your floor type and setting and we will recommend the best match.

Do your floor treatments change how the floor looks?

Our chemical anti-slip treatments are designed to increase traction by microscopically altering a compatible surface, so they typically leave the floor's appearance essentially unchanged, with no visible coating or color change on most suitable surfaces. Always test the product on a small, inconspicuous area first and follow the product instructions.

Can your products be used both indoors and outdoors?

Yes. We offer solutions engineered for interior, exterior, wet, and dry environments. Product selection matters because certain tapes, coatings, treatments, and FRP products are designed for specific surfaces and exposure conditions. Review the product specifications or ask us for the best match for your location.

Are the products suitable for wet areas like showers, pools, and bathrooms?

Yes. We offer a dedicated line of bathroom and wet-area safety products, and several treatments and traction products are designed to improve slip resistance on compatible wet surfaces such as pool decks, showers, tubs, and locker rooms.

How are the products applied? Can I install them myself?

Many products, including anti-slip tapes, cleats, and selected treatments, are designed for straightforward self-application with proper surface preparation. Larger or specialized installations, including some epoxy coatings and FRP panels, may benefit from professional installation. Follow the instructions supplied with the specific product, and contact our team for application guidance.

How durable are the products and how long do they last?

Service life varies by product, surface preparation, traffic, cleaning practices, weather, and exposure to chemicals or moisture. FRP step covers and heavy-duty coatings are built for demanding, long-term use, while tapes, treatments, and floor-care products may require maintenance or reapplication over time in high-traffic areas.

Do you offer custom or OEM anti-slip solutions?

Yes. We specialize in custom and OEM solutions and have supplied OEMs, MRO buyers, and distributors for decades. We can discuss custom sizes, shapes, colors, materials, packaging, and private-label requirements for qualified projects.

Safety & Compliance

Are No Skidding products certified for slip resistance?

Many No Skidding product lines are certified “High Traction” by the National Floor Safety Institute (NFSI), and products have been independently tested by facilities on three continents. Certifications and test methods vary by product, so review the individual product page or request the relevant technical data before specifying a solution.

Do your products help meet OSHA and ADA requirements?

Many No Skidding products are designed and tested to meet or exceed applicable slip-resistance criteria referenced in OSHA and ADA guidance. Requirements and suitability vary by product, application, environment, and jurisdiction, so confirm the technical documentation for the product you plan to use.

What is a “High Traction” rating and why does it matter?

An NFSI High Traction designation indicates that a walkway surface or product has met defined slip-resistance criteria under a recognized test method. In practical terms, it provides independent performance documentation that can support safety reviews, insurer requests, purchasing decisions, and compliance records.

Can you provide test data or documentation for compliance and audits?

Yes. Depending on the product, we can provide technical data sheets, safety data sheets, test information, and other documentation to support safety programs, insurance requirements, procurement reviews, and compliance audits. Contact our team with the product and standard you need documented.

How do I measure the slip resistance of my own floors?

We offer professional slip-resistance testing equipment for measuring the coefficient of friction of floor surfaces. Testing can help identify problem areas, establish a baseline, compare conditions before and after treatment, and document ongoing floor-safety performance.

Why should I address slip resistance proactively?

Addressing high-risk floors before an incident helps protect employees, customers, residents, and visitors. A proactive program can also support safer operations, reduce disruption, improve documentation, and help limit exposure to injury claims and avoidable downtime.
